I disagree with Manfred. The film's script is limited by the conventional length of a therapy session, usually 45 or 50 minutes, here extended to a 90-min double-session. Within this time frame, the whole story needs to unfold. This results in the seemingly lame final romantic reconciliation. But within the context, this is inevitable. It is also irrelevant. The crux of the matter is the "method", the reverse psychology technique which brings the couple to grips with their uniting features. The film adaption of the theatrical play is witty, funny and simply good. Bravo.
